Frank Mash askes MySQL 5.1 still in beta? Well, yes. Otherwise known as “just entered beta” :)

As for when it’ll be GA, the answer is, as always “when it’s ready.” If you look at 5.0 – it went beta on 23rh March 2005 and declared production on 19th October.

I would hope a similar timeframe for 5.1

My advice would be to run out of cron today, and when you’re comfortable with deploying 5.1, use events in it. Of course, test on both.
